Dear friends and colleagues,
I'm happy to announce You that in consequences of our pleasant meeting in St Petersburg we have founded The Northern and Eastern European Centre for Puppet Arts (NEECPA). This organisation gives us much better possibilities to gain support for our communication, gatherings and organising festivals in future. For now we've founded NEECPA as sovereign organisation, not as a part of UNIMA, but we should certainly cooperate with UNIMA very closely as we share the same goals. Our first tasks will be: 1) creating an attractive and informative website to share the information about our members' activities within the organisation and to people interested in puppetry at Northern and Eastern Europe, 2) organising the next Baltic Sea Countries Puppet Theatre Festival and meeting at 2012 in frameworks of Tallinn Treff Festival. The members of NEECPA can be all national UNIMA centres of the region, but also theatres and other organisations from the region, who are making their contribution to puppetry. You will find the charter of the new organisation from the attachment. The charters are in English and in Russian.
You're all welcome to the premiere of Duda Paiva's new production at NUKU at 7. of november. At same day, we will hold also the first general meeting of NEECPA, electing the board and discussing about the future plans. NUKU will provide You an accommodation and meals in Tallinn at 6.th and 7.th of november and an invitation to Duda's premiere. Please let me know about Your attendance soon.
You can send me an application for your organisation to be a member of NEECPA by e-mail. If You have any questions, please, don't hesitate to ask.
Baltic Sea Countries Puppet Theatre Festival and Tallinn Treff Festival 2012 will be held at 24. - 27. of May next year. So we can friendly leave to Chengdu straightly from Tallinn together :)
Please send me Your proposals for the festival soon. I think it's for the best, if each national centre will choose few very good performances from it's members and send me the DVD-s, so we can make the final decision in Tallinn. One new thing at Tallinn Treff Festival at next year will be "a baby-street" - street program for the youngest audience. So, if You could propose some performances for babies, I would appreciate it a lot.
P.S. Dear Ruth, please don't worry that Germany is in Central Europe by UN definition. We're not a strictly regulated UN but a great society of friends in puppetry, who are trying to make good things together :)
So, of course Your organisation is also welcome to NEECPA.
With All the Warmest Wishes,
Vahur
